2011-2012 TV Pilots – Why Actors Should Be Watching
Every year we (actors) put ourselves on the line a hundred times in the audition room in a bid to try and land a pilot. Whether you’re successful or not, when the new shows come out – you should be watching.
“Why” you ask, “I didn;t book one, so what’s the difference”?
First of all – there’s no use getting bitter. Hey, maybe you came really close without even knowing it. Maybe you caught the attention of some casting directors that will want to use you in something else. So, in the meantime, you have to keep sharpening your game, honing your chops, and keeping up to date.
Watching the new 2011-2012 pilots is part of keeping on top of your game. You get to see which actors are “selling”, and what types of shows are getting the money to actually get made! It’s important to take notes and think about how all this applies to you. What kind of “look” do you have? What kind of roles are you suited to? Now go watch your TV, and ask yourself “Where do I fit in next year?”
