I know that there are many reasons why people lose their hair. There’s stress, there’s pregnancy or hormonal change, there are diseases such as Lupus and allopecia and of course, there’s genetics which can probably only be remedied with a hair transplant. But one of the reasons that people have this all too common problem has something to do with their diet. From what I have read, vitamin deficiency hair loss causes a lot of the problems that many women and men suffer from nowadays. For some people, once this vitamin deficiency is back to normal, then their hair also becomes stronger, less brittle and grows much faster as well. Some of the vitamins that are necessary for healthy hair include Vitamin B’s Biotin, Omega 3 fatty acids, and iron. If you’re prone to falling or brittle hair, then these vitamins are the ones you need to take. Regular intake of these supplements will greatly benefit the health of your hair as well as your body.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, who is viewed to be one of the best football players in world, had recently had a hair transplant. What’s great about this is Rooney is very open about this and frequently tweets about his experiences.
Hair restoration is a general term used to treat hair loss. This is usually done conservatively by using medical treatments or more invasive procedures like hair transplant.
Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of hair loss in men and women. It commonly occurs among the older age group. Unfortunately, this can also happen in younger individuals especially if it runs in the family, just like our football superstar Rooney. In men, this called male pattern baldness and in women, it is known as female pattern baldness.
A quick but expensive way to treat hair loss is by having hair transplant surgery. This is done by carefully harvesting hair on areas of the scalp with healthy hair growth. Usually, hair is taken from the back of the head. Collecting hair takes a lot of time since each hair strand needs to be carefully exacted one by one. After extraction, the follicles are transferred or transplanted to bald areas of the scalp by making very small incisions on the skin and this is where the hair follicles are carefully inserted.
A more conservative approach is to use hair loss treatment products. These products are much cheaper and also effective in treating hair loss. But unlike the instant effects of transplant surgery, conservative treatments need longer time to take effect.
Finasteride is an approved medical treatment for men with male pattern hair loss. Minoxidil is also an approved hair loss treatment for both men and women. Alternatively, there are natural treatments that use herbal extracts from the saw palmetto palm tree. The extract is proven to stop the harmful effects of dihydrotestosterone to the hair follicles when directly applied to the scalp. The advantage of using natural treatments is that there are no side effects, and are safe even after many years of use.
